Matt Nowosiadly has been named the new owner of Hickory Dickory Decks Niagara, the latest milestone in a decade-long career with Canada’s largest custom deck builder.

Nowosiadly began his career with Hickory Dickory Decks in 2014 at The Deck Yard, where he gained experience handling and shipping low-maintenance decking materials. He soon transitioned to field work as a posthole foreman, managing deck teardowns, excavations, concrete footings, and helical pile installations.

In 2016, Nowosiadly advanced to a Carpenter Apprentice role, learning construction techniques under the company’s “Hickory Way” while working alongside senior carpenters. He earned his Carpentry Apprenticeship Diploma from Mohawk College in 2019 and achieved his Red Seal Qualification the same year.

By 2020, he had become a part-owner of two franchise locations—Hickory Dickory Decks Ancaster/Binbrook and Grimsby/Welland—while also launching his own business, Nowo Nails Contracting, which focuses on interior renovations.

Nowosiadly officially became owner of Hickory Dickory Decks Niagara in early 2024. “From my years of involvement in the business, I have been able to learn all aspects of the Hickory Dickory Decks mission statement: quality, reliable workmanship, and happy customers,” he said.

Hickory Dickory Decks operates more than 65 franchises across Canada and continues to expand its presence in key markets.
